How long have you been playing? -> since 2007
Have you ever been in low sec? -> sometimes, not enough to make a living out of it.
Do you run missions or complexes in low sec? -> on rare occasions.
If so, what is the appeal for you? -> Decline to comment.
Are rewards in low sec in line with the risk? -> I've yet to experience worthwhile rewards, but i know it's possible.
Is the risk in low sec over-stated? -> depends on the system/region.
Would education from savvy players about how to mitigate risk in low sec encourage folks who didn't just want to AFK L4's to operate there? -> Decline to comment.
What is the number one change to low sec that would cause you to considering doing missions and complexes there? -> Level 5 missions have been 'gimped' so now it's more likely to take place in low sec. I don't think that is the correct way to populate low sec. Level 5 missions should be returned to it's 'Pre-Tyrannis' state. To offer incentive for more people to migrate to low sec, CCP should create Level 6 Agents!

Proposals: 1.) add an item, that will give you some kind of warning, if someone is trying to scan you out (analogy: if you are using active sonar, you can hear/detect that someone is looking for you). Maybe the effectivness of this modul depends on your skills. At lvl 5 you should have a 90% chance to detect if someone is trying to scan you (maybe this needs to be balanced in relationship with skills of the scanner). This way, you get rid of constantly spamming the system scanner, but still have good chances to detect if someone is going to attack soon. Then you have to make the decision: avoid fighting and abort the mission or accept the challenge (see point 2).
2.) if you are doing a low-sec mission, you have the option to hire an NPC escort, that will arrive if you are being attacked by other players. The NPCs will not help you with your mission ;-). You have different options: if you pay more, you will get more escort. This has several effects. The mission runner can sacrificy money for security. This also increases the risk of pirates: they cannot be sure, how much NPCs will join the fight against their target. The mechanics must be so intelligent, that if more pirates appear during the fight, also more NPCs escort ships will appear. Maybe if you take the "platin escort option", this will ensure that both sides have equal numbers of ships. It would be cool, if you could give certain commands to your escort: attack my target, give me some reps etc... - maybe this is room for additional leadership skills (improving the ability to control your escort ships). If your ship should be killed during the fight, all or a part of the escort fees will be refunded (so you can give it another try). Maybe specific skills will offer you specific options for your escort: ECM, Remote Reps aso.
I approve of this product, message, or service.
